The 1904 invitation was in honor of the 40th anniversary of Fancher's admittance to the Isabella County Bar Association.

Fancher was a lawyer in Mount Pleasant (Mich.) and authored the Past and present of Isabella County, Michigan, copies of which are in the Clarke Historical Library. He married Althea M. Preston (d. 1900). Dr. Maybee was a history professor at Central Michigan University for many years. A number of his books and papers are at the Clarke. Rolland Harper Maybee was born on January 6, 1901 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Harper C. Maybee (1876-1954) and Blanche Maybee (1879-1970). Maybee had three brothers: Allen, Harper Jr., and Eugene Maybee. Rolland attended high school in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
